Iria was born in Lisboa, Portugal. She is an architect, director and visual artist, lived in several countries such as Kuwait, France, Algeria, and Mauritius Island (Indian ocean). Studied both in Lisboa and Milano. Continuously exploring in hand drawing, architecture and film|video.

Since 2025 is based in Portugal, developing art projects, sculptures and (monochromatic) drawings.

In 2022 she started her own consultancy in Mauritius, working as Art&Arch consultant, while teaching design studio at university (ENSA Nantes - Mauritius).

Between 2010-2014, Directed and Edited short 'documental' films, such as "Jorge de Oliveira - Painting matter"(40', HD, 2010), with screenings at Cinemateca Portuguesa (2013), museums such as MNAC, Mimo, FASVS and while working in video art.

Her artistic studies background include watercolor lessons with her grandfather, Painter Jorge de Oliveira, studied at António Arroio Artistic Sec. School (PT), attended the Drawing course (2007-08) in Ar.co (PT), and an Academic program in Visual Arts (PhD candidate at Univ Évora 2011-13. PT), in drawing and video-installation.

CORGO. video installation 2014

A reflection in the scope of the tactility of the video image through the exploring of textures of the river CORGO, element that steeply cuts and crosses Vila Real. The image is mediated by digital support, climbs up to the city and occupies the Museum space.

A dual-projection device marks the entrance hall and the reconfiguration of the spectator's route: an animated textured stream, the main window-wave, and a river stream projecting onto the floor of the space.

The first projection skin is porous, revealed both in the interior and exterior of the Museum, establishing a dialogue between architecture and the moving image.The video installation reveals itself at nightfall.
